Fast, low moisture wine barrel steam cleaning solutions

Oak barrels are one of the greatest investments and on-going expenses in a winery. To help businesses combat the cleaning issues in wine barrels, Duplex Cleaning Machines has introduced a range of steam cleaning equipment  that can prolong barrel life and make cleaning far more economical than traditional  methods.

Through the use of Duplex superheated 94% dry steam cleaner, the barrels can be:

  • Deep cleaned using up to 95% less water
  • Cleaned using no chemicals and in a timely process.
  • Thermally sanitised to eliminate bretanomyces in the oak
  • Rehydrated and revitalised to restore oak flavours
  • Given greater longevity to oak saving thousands per year

With a Duplex Cleaning Bacchus steam cleaning system, a barrel can be cleaned and sanitised with internal temperatures of +100°C in under 5 minutes, with less than 3 litres of water. See the image below to discover why it is so easy to remove tartars inside the barrels within matter of minutes:
